Pompey Community Church
Nestled in the rolling hills of Upstate New York, where the cell service is spotty and the winter snow is deep, Pompey Community Church nurtures a warm and welcoming congregation. With generations both young and old in attendance, PCC was in need of a refreshed look that would appeal to a broad audience.
Role
This project was such a delight to work on! Inspiration came from the church's rural setting, and from there I created scenic paintings, botanical motifs, hand lettering, and brush textures to give the new brand a down-to-earth feel. Traditional typefaces got a modern lift with airy settings and a fresh palette. The logo update preserves the character of the original while embracing simplicity; leaded line work and an arched form bring to mind stained glass windows.
